I'm writing this post on the aftermath of a horrendous Arsenal performance in the match against Liverpool. A match the team clearly could win but did not because they couldn't be half-arsed about it.
What's obvious now is, we need to buy a big and brave centre-forward. He would be the paper covering over the permanent cracks of an Arsene-Wenger-knows-nothing-about-defending-well regime. In all honesty, I don't think Arsene Wenger will ever succeed in re-creating a solid back-4. So if you can't do it, then try something else. The best defence would be to attack strongly, no?
Could we not buy Villa now? 8million dollar bid for him (euro or gbp i can't be arsed) is ridiculous because this is an insult for a player who is barca's 2nd top scorer despite the lack of games. For goodness sake up the bid.
Left back, how on earth did we actually scout Andre Santos remains the greatest mystery ever. If you told me the Park Chu-Young buy is a great mystery, then I would say the signing of Andre Santos is an even bigger one. Clearly unfit and not suitable for English soccer so what on earth was our scouting team doing? Mind you he was 6million dollars (once again euro or gbp i dont' know and can't give an arse).
Something is seriously wrong with our scouts. How did they sign Joel Campbell knowing very well he can't even play in UK, and thus have to let him out on loan for like 2 seasons in a row?
This club means so much and dear to me. And i can't help but feel utterly disappointed when the internal problems are having such a clear and big impact on the performance on the pitch. Scouts getting it wrong and bringing in unsuitable players, a board which is profit-driven, a manager who is so stubborn. These are internal problems and these are affecting the play on the pitch. We have a squad with individually good players but yet they can't perform because of the underlying problems.
Something has to be done and it has to be done right NOW. Those cocky, pun intended, neighbours are already points ahead so this is urgent AND important.
